  • Buy NMOS Here | AMWA

buy nmos here expanding the adoption of NMOS-based products The AMWA's Networked Media Open Specifications (NMOS) exist to support the industry adoption of an open, inter-operable approach to IP-based infrastructures. Many companies, both members and non-members of the AMWA, have worked hard to implement NMOS in their product ranges and we encourage end users to reference the catalog when designing best-of-breed, interoperable systems. We are also keen to support suppliers who wish to reach end users who might be in the market for their products. This web page provides an opportunity for end users to see a list of hardware and software products w hen designing IP-based systems and for suppliers to reach potential new customers who are actively planning to make purchases. End Users The AMWA maintains a list of suppliers that provide open source and freeware plus commercial implementations of the NMOS specifications. The lists include information about which NMOS specifications, versions and features are supported and provide links to the manufacturers’ product pages . Use the links below to see the catalogs for:- Open source & freeware Controllers & registries Media nodes Many of these products have participated in the JT-NM Tested programme, with results available here . Note that the JT-NM Tested badge does not constitute a ‘pass’ but is simply an indication that testing results are available to download. Please note that the AMWA's product list is unlikely to include all products that are commercially available and that the AMWA does not make guarantees of conformance. If you know of an important product that is not listed, please let us know and we will see if it can be included! Suppliers We also encourage suppliers who are not currently listed to provide information of NMOS-ready products. You don't have to be an AMWA member to be included on the list. To have an implementation added for any of the three categories above, please click through to an application form . If you would like to update the details of an existing item on the list, please also use this link. Please note that the product must be currently available for sale, not still in development, and that the link must go to the product page, detailing the NMOS support, and not to a generic website. Board Chairs Mission+Vision

  • Certification | AMWA

Certification AS-11 DPP AMWA CERTIFICATION AUTHORITY AS-11 DPP What is AS-11 DPP? As the SMPTE standard for MXF gained adoption, around 2012 it was recognised that a specific subset would be valuable to UK broadcasters for the delivery of finished programs. In support of the Digital Production Partnership (DPP), comprising the BBC, Channel Four and ITV, and with the support of Sky and BT Sport, the AMWA developed the DPP subset of AS-11 to constrain the media format and to add the extra metadata required for their workflows. To provide confidence for customers wishing to buy AS-11 compliant products, the DPP set up a Test Lab. In conjunction with this, the AMWA established a Certification authority to authorize the use of logos and grant the rights to manufacturers to make appropriate claims regarding the compliance of their products. Please note - MXF is seen by many as a mature technology and the DPP’s Test Lab and the AMWA Certification Authority are not operating at the present time. What does an AS-11 DPP Certificate mean? The DPP have been very specific in stating what an AS-11 DPP certificate means within the context of their compliance tests. Important Notes about this Certification It is very important that the user reads the Test Report for the product/version they are interested in. The AS-11 UK DPP shim specification hosted by AMWA now also hosts the Rules for Conformance. The Rules for Conformance are used as the final point of reference in cases of discrepancy with the AS-11 specification or ambiguity in the specification. Products are tested against the HD Shim only (at this time), and for the file format only, and so are completely content agnostic. Further details about DPP testing leading to Certification can be found on the DPP website. www.thedpp.com What a Certificate means The capability of a product/version to read and/or write files to “AMWA AS-11 UK DPP” HD Shim (SD Shim files are not yet covered) has been tested by the DPP Compliance Lab and all the tests performed, as documented in the Test Report under the specified operating conditions have either “Passed” or “Passed with Conditions”. What a Certificate does NOT mean All modes and features of the product have been tested. All files produced by a Certified Writer are always fully conformant to the “AMWA AS-11 UK DPP” Shims. All files from Certified Writers will always work correctly with Certified Readers. AMWA AS-11 UK DPP HD – Format Conformance Testing Certificates The table below provides summary information regarding certificates granted by the AMWA CA to manufacturers. Please note that certificates are granted for a specific version of a product (or for products on a continuous release schedule, for a specific product as of a specific date and time), tested against a specific set of DPP test criteria as of a specific date. The DPP test lab issues a test report to vendors who have submitted products for testing. The vendor may then choose to submit that test report to the AMWA CA in order to obtain a certificate. The DPP test report may be downloaded by clicking on the test report corresponding to the product in the table below. OEM Prod. Name Prod. Version Report Date Issue Date Cert. • Rebuilding Derived Headers on Windows | AMWA

Rebuilding Derived headers on Windows This page describes the procedure for running dodo on Windows using the Cygwin GNU tools. It is also possible to build dodo with Visual Studio and the commercial MKS tools running AAF/dodo/makefile rather than AAF/dodo/GNUmakefile. Required tools (all part of cygwin ): Gnu Make C++ compiler Perl Bash Shell0 If you add an extra interface file, you need to follow this procedure: if you don't already have it, checkout the dodoWin module from CVS, this should give you the dodo directory and the extra make files required. create your AAFmyInterface.dod macro file by editing a similar example generate a new UUID for your COM interface add your Implementation and Unit Test for your interface (you can use dodo to manually generate the basic files) add the AAFmyInterface to dodo/aafobjects.mk run GNUmakefile in the dodo directory by simply typing 'make' add the AAFmyInterface.dod macro file to CVS run the midl compiler ?? add the new derived files to CVS ref-impl/src/com-api/: CAAFmyInterface.cpp CAAFmyInterface.h Rebuild the Mac and Win SDKs to copy ref-api headers to their sub-directories (Win build MakeSDK target, Mac run MakeSDK MPW script) CVS checkin all the affected derived files such as ref-impl/include/com-api AAF.idl, AAF.h, AAF_i.c The following table shows the steps that the main Dodo makefile goes through to update the Derived files: Return to Developers GNUmakefile ../build/common.mk determines platform/environment ../build/Pdefs-Win.mk used by common.mk after checking OS type tool/GNUmakefile builds the DODO executable Runs PERL script sync_copyright.pl to update the copyright text in macros/base.mac dodotargets.mak creates a list of DODO targets using aafobjects.mk as the input file and running GenTargets.sh on this to create targets.mk NOTE: new Target *.dod files must be added manually to aafobjects.mk dododepend.mak creates DODO dependency information in its output file depend.mk , using aafobjects.mk as input and running in sequence GenDepend.sh and then GenDepend2.sh on this file. depend.mk included in maketargets.mak to provide the dependencies for the targets. maketargets_gnu.mak where the bulk of the work is done (builds all the targets). Creates all *.idl files using shell scripts: GenAafPrivateIdl.sh GenAafIdl.sh GenPluginIdl.sh Creates various headers (*.h) using shell scripts: GenAafPrivateh.sh GenAafh.sh GenPluginh.sh Creates various *_i.refh files using shell scripts: GenAafPrivate_i.sh GenAaf_i.sh GenPlugin_i.sh Creates AAFClassIds.impl file with GenClassIds.sh Creates AAFClassIds.comh file with GenClassIds.sh Creates AAFObjectTable.comh file with GenObjectTable.sh Creates AAFObjectTable_i.refh file with GenObjectTable_i.sh Creates CAAF*.h and CAAF*.cpp files for each corresponding input *.dod file Uses the Microsoft IDL compiler to generate ref-impl/include/com-api files (only available under Windows NT, it says) Thanks to Dudley Beenham at Sony for tracing out this summary.

  • Certification-original | AMWA

Certification AMWA CERTIFICATION AUTHORITY Why was it created? The AMWA operates a Certification Authority (CA) to convey to vendors the legal right to use logos and to make claims about their product’s or service’s performance. It is a major goal of the CA, working with our partners, to increase a media company's confidence when selecting products to use in their programme-making and delivery processes. What does it do? The AMWA Certification Authority works with partner organizations to demonstrate to the industry that products meet testing criteria established by our partners. It is important to note that the CA does not establish the criteria for certification, nor does it perform testing or analysis to determine whether a vendor's product meets those criteria - this work is done elsewhere. However, once the vendor has proof that their product meets the criteria, they may apply to the CA in order to be granted formal certification and access to logos and other marketing material to promote their products and services. Certification Authority Projects The first project for the Certification Authority has been with the UK’s Digital Production Partnership (DPP), comprising public service broadcasters, the BBC, Channel Four and ITV. Their goal is to promote interoperability between products used in the delivery of AS-11 DPP format MXF files prior to distribution. Further details are on our CERTIFICATION AUTHORITY – AS-11 DPP page. Benefits for End Users The move from tape to file based workflows can introduce concerns about interoperability between different products. It is important that media companies have confidence that a manufacturer's product meets its claims of compliance to an Application Specification and that files can be reliably exchanged between systems. Benefits for Suppliers The goal of product certification is to give users of products the confidence that there is interoperability between a range of suppliers and that MXF files created to an AMWA Application Specification will meet that specification for easy exchange. Further details are on our Certification Authority – AS-11 DPP Supplier Information page.

  • Cygwin Tools | AMWA

How to download Cygwin tools The GNU based Cygwin tools include CVS with SSH (which are required for read/write access to the repository) and a free Bash shell which is useful for the command line. Return to Developers Downloading starts with the setup tool setup.exe follow these instructions to load the minimum, bash, cygwin, openssh, cvs. Note that the recommended root directory for installs is C:\cygwin If you are not running as Administrator it's best to select the option to install as Administrator or the setup program will fail to automatically create some important files (such as cygwin's equivalent of /etc/passwd). When prompted for "Default Text File Type". The choices will be "DOS", or "Unix" - choose DOS because you want CVS to perform \n -> \r\n conversion as it checks out files. The setup.exe program can allow you to skip packages by clicking on the circular arrow icon. (Downloading the full distribution can take over an hour at 56K)
